Career
Taemin was discovered at the 2005 S.M. Open Weekend Audition Casting. In 2008, he was chosen as a member of the group Shinee, the 5-member boy group debuted on May 25, 2008 on SBS's Inkigayo."
ActingTaemin debuted as an actor as Lee Junsu in the sitcom Taehee-Hyegyo-Jihyun! (Korean: "태희혜교지현이!").He later played Kim Sung Jae on Moon Night 90 with group member, Key.
Taemin has done cameo/appearances in tv dramas or sitcoms like Athena, High Kick! 3 and Salamander Guru and The Shadows.
In December 2011, Taemin took part as voice actor for the Korean animated movie called 'Koala Kid - The Outcast' as the main character, Johnny, a white koala turned hero, along with fellow labelmate, Girl's Generation's Sunny.
Television shows Taemin has appeared on television shows such as Idol Maknae Rebellion as a guest star alongside his Shinee group mates Key, Jonghyun, and Onew in several episodes. He appeared together with other idol group members, including Dongho from U-KISS, Shorry J from Mighty Mouth, Jinwoon from 2AM, Yunhwa from T-Max, Seunghyun from F.T. Island, and Mir from MBLAQ.In January 2012, Taemin join Immortal Song 2 and made history as the first singer since “Immortal Song 2” broadcast to have a tie among the participants. At that time, Taemin performed "Mapo Terminal" from Silver Bell Sister and competed with musical actor Im Taekyung, both garnered 376 votes.
Personal Life Taemin has an older brother, Lee Taesun. They are very close to each other and Taemin misses him often. His group mates once said that Taemin had cried because he missed his brother very much. He is close to Exo-K member Kai (Kim Jong-in). They performed together at the 2011 SM TOWN special stage - Gayo Daejun. Taemin participated in a photoshoot alongside Kai. Short video clips of the photoshoot were released on SM Entertainment and W Korea's Youtube channels on January 19 and January 21, 2012.
In March 2011, Taemin transfered to an Arts High School from his previous school, Chung Dam High School to accommodate his hectic schedule for Shinee’s Japanese advancement..
